Breathwork for Teenagers and Young Adults

Adolescence brings with it many challenges. However, we are currently experiencing a huge spike in teenage mental health issues. Depression, anxiety and behavioural disorders are among the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents. Adolescents with mental health conditions are particularly vulnerable to social exclusion, discrimination, stigma (affecting readiness to seek help), educational difficulties, risk-taking behaviours and physical ill-health.

Teenagers are also facing an increasing amount of pressure from academic expectations. Exam stress is particularly common, with many teens experiencing difficulty managing the overwhelming feelings that come with schoolwork and exams. These challenges can manifest in poor sleep, difficulty concentrating, mood swings, and even physical symptoms like headaches or stomach aches. If left unmanaged, stress can lead to burnout or more severe mental health concerns.

By taking a back-to-basics approach, I guide you through various conscious breathing techniques to enhance your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Education around the breath and the physiology of breathing is key to consciously connecting to your breath, integrating it into your everyday life plus using it in times of need e.g. to manage stressful situations, give you energy or to help you sleep.
